This Is a Solo Lottery Miner

Bought for the block, not for the daily yield. Here is what the odds above actually mean.

HammerMiner BC04 is built for solo mining, not for daily yield. The profit figures above are calculated the same way as for every other machine on this site, but they are not why anyone buys one of these. A lottery miner is a ticket: it earns effectively nothing on an average day, and a single solved block pays the entire reward straight to your own address, with no pool taking a cut.

The chance rows under the profit table are the honest numbers. Your share of every block draw is simply this miner's hashrate divided by the whole network's hashrate, and the daily, monthly and yearly figures are the probability of solving at least one block in that time. Every hash has exactly the same chance as a hash from an industrial farm — there are simply fewer of them. Difficulty moves, so the odds are recalculated against live data.

Judge it on running cost and odds rather than on payback, and it stops looking irrational: the electricity in the expense column is the price of the ticket, the block value is the prize, and the rating next to the odds tells you how this machine compares with the rest of its class right now.

Algorithm Information: SHA-256

SHA-256 — what this algorithm is and how it works.

SHA-256 is a cryptographic hash function. Fractal Bitcoin relies on it for proof-of-work consensus. This algorithm processes input data of any length and produces a fixed hash value, ensuring security and integrity in the mining process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about solo mining with the HammerMiner BC04 (4.8TH)

At the current network difficulty the HammerMiner BC04 (4.8TH/s) has a 1 in 1.32M chance of solving a block per day, which works out to 1 in 3.61K over a full year of continuous running. The figures are recalculated against live network data, so they move as difficulty moves.

Not in the way a production ASIC is. Its expected daily earnings are effectively zero, and the electricity cost shown above is paid every day regardless. Nobody buys a lottery miner for yield — they buy it for a genuine, non-custodial shot at a full block reward, and for the ability to mine on their own node. Judge it on running cost and odds, not on payback.

The full block reward, currently worth about $255,179, plus every transaction fee in that block is paid to the address you configured. On a public solo pool the pool takes a small fee first; on your own node nothing is taken. The coinbase output has to mature for a number of blocks before it can be spent.

At 240W and your electricity rate of $0.080/kWh it costs about $0.46 per day, $13.82 per month and $168.19 per year. That is the real price of the lottery ticket.

Your cumulative chance goes up because you enter more draws, but you never become due. Every hash is an independent trial with identical odds, so the network has no memory of the time you already spent. The yearly figure above is exactly that cumulative chance over twelve months.

Any coin on the SHA-256 algorithm — the table above lists each one with its own network size and block odds.

No. A public solo pool builds the block templates for you and pays the finder the full reward minus a small fee, and it works out of the box. Running your own full node with a solo stratum server is the sovereign version: you build your own templates, choose your own transactions and answer to nobody. Same hardware, one weekend more setup.

Hashrate is tickets and efficiency is the ticket price: doubling hashrate doubles the odds, and better efficiency buys the same odds for less electricity. The rating next to the daily chance places this machine among the lottery miners of its algorithm right now, and the generations ladder above ranks every one of them by efficiency.
