How MiningRigRentals works
MiningRigRentals is a hashrate marketplace: renters pay for time on your machine, and the site sits between you and them as an escrow.
Renters pay up front
A renter picks your rig, chooses how many hours to rent it and pays the full price before the rental starts, in one of the cryptocurrencies MiningRigRentals accepts.
Your rig mines for the renter
While the rental runs, MiningRigRentals routes your machine to the renter's pool through its own stratum proxy. You keep full control of the hardware and its configuration; the renter only decides where the hashrate goes.
The site holds the money
MiningRigRentals acts as an escrow. It credits your balance when the rental ends, holds the proceeds for a short dispute window and takes its commission off the renter's price.
Idle time mines your own pools
When nobody rents the rig, it falls back to the pools you configured, so the machine keeps earning the ordinary pool rate between rentals.
How to rent out your ASIC miner on MiningRigRentals
Everything between a new account and a rig listed in the marketplace.
Create a free account
Register with a username, a strong password, a PIN code and a valid email address. No other details are required, and you sign in with your username, not your email.
Secure the account and set a payout address
Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and enter a payout address from a wallet you control. Changing the address, password or email later puts a temporary hold on withdrawals.
Create the rig
Open My Rigs, click Create new Rig and enter the algorithm, the hashrate the machine really holds and the MiningRigRentals server closest to it. The rig page then shows the worker name to use.
Set the price and rental length
Enter your price per unit of hashrate per day or let the auto-pricer keep it competitive, then set the minimum and maximum rental hours and the suggested pool difficulty for renters.
Add your own backup pools
Fill the rig's pool slots with the pools the machine should mine when it is not rented. They are tried in order, so the next one takes over when the first goes offline.
Point the miner at MiningRigRentals
In the miner's web interface, enter the MiningRigRentals stratum server as the pool, your worker name as the user and any text as the password, then set the rig to Available.

When renting pays more than pool mining
The rental price is set by what renters will pay, not by the blockchain, so it drifts above or below what a pool pays for the same hashrate.
Why renting can pay more
- Renters buy hashrate to chase a coin, a merged-mining bonus or a pool promotion that the pool figure on this page does not include.
- Bursts of demand, such as a new coin launch or a sudden difficulty drop, lift rental prices faster than pool income moves.
- The renter carries the luck: you are paid a fixed price per hour whether or not their pool finds a block.
Why the pool can pay more
- The marketplace commission comes off every rental, and many pools charge less.
- Between rentals the rig mines your own pools at the ordinary rate, so a machine that waits long for renters earns the pool figure, not the rental price.
- On a busy algorithm, prices settle close to what mining pays, because renters only rent when the hashrate is worth more to them than it costs.
- Refunds for downtime or low hashrate reduce what a rental pays.

How we calculate the rental income
Every figure on this page comes from the public MiningRigRentals market data, converted into satoshi per unit of hashrate per day.
6
Algorithms covered
10
Recent rentals averaged
3%
Commission deducted
30 min
Refresh interval
We take the average price renters paid for the most recent rentals of each algorithm, subtract the MiningRigRentals commission and convert the result into satoshi per unit of hashrate per day, the same unit the pool figure uses.
The page lists the algorithms with an active rental market on MiningRigRentals. An algorithm with no rig rented at the moment has no current price, so it stays hidden until renters return.
The pool figure is what mining the algorithm's coins on a pool pays at current difficulty and prices. When an algorithm has no such figure, the best single coin of that algorithm stands in.
Electricity is the same on both sides: the machine draws the same power whether it mines for a renter or for your own pool, so the difference in income is also the difference in profit.
Risks of renting out a miner, and how to handle them
Renting is low effort once the rig is set up, but a few habits decide whether it pays.
Your RPI score
Every rig gets a performance score from its first rentals. It starts at Good, can reach Best when the machine keeps delivering its advertised speed, and decides where the rig appears in the list.
Refunds only for your own faults
If the rig goes offline, throttles or runs below its advertised hashrate, the renter can get a prorated refund. Problems caused by the renter's pool or difficulty setting are never charged to you.
Advertise an honest hashrate
List the speed the machine holds day after day, not its best moment. An inflated figure costs refunds and score; an accurate one keeps the rig near the top of the list.
Prices move
A rental locks its price for its whole length, but the next renter may pay less. Check the table above against pool income before you fix a price, or let the auto-pricer follow the market.
Withdraw what you earn
Your earnings sit in a custodial balance until you withdraw them. Use a payout address you control, keep two-factor authentication on and withdraw regularly.
Heat, power and firmware
A rented machine runs at full load for the whole rental. Keep cooling, power and firmware stable, keep backup pools configured and never accept payment from a renter outside the site.
